Why “Palmetta”? You may ask…

When it came time to name my retail space, I wanted something marketable, personal, and undeniably playful…. something that felt true to me and where I come from. I kept coming back to family, to South Carolina, and to that unmistakable southern accent I’m so often reminded of.

My family has a drawl that feels like hospitality in an accent….warm, inviting, and deeply southern in all the best ways. Palmetta was born from the way my South Carolinian family pronounces the state tree. A subtle twist, but one that carries so much meaning.
